Frederic D. Bushman, co-director of the Center for Research on Coronavirus and other Emerging Pathogens at the University of Pennsylvania, is yet another well-known specialist to contradict U.S. President Donald Trump's conspiracy theory on the origin of the novel coronavirus. The professor told CGTN on Thursday that "there's no reason to think that it's deliberately engineered weapon or something like that," before adding that COVID-19 looks very much like other viruses that have transferred over from animals into humans.
